Webinar on Creating a Business Website with WordPress
Listened to an Association of Professional Genealogists (APG) webinar tonight. I use WordPress already but a nice presentation and learned new things to improve my website presence. APG members will be able to hear the Webinar from the APG website soon. Worth a listen.
German Sources and General tips
Reminder that when you do your research to “Extract, don’t abstract”. All information you gather from public records and other genealogical record gathering has something of value and will be useful to you or another person who reviews your collected information. For example church records are great but if you only take down information about your relative on a marriage or baptism record and not the whole information that is listed on the document (witnesses and sponsors), you may find later it would have been nice to have for gathering information about where your ancestor lived and worked. Even connections to Naturalization records can be found through knowledge of witnesses and sponsors on these other records. So bottom line take the time to review and review the whole document and not just a name and date.
Keep working on finding your family connections.

Great-Great-Great Grandparents 5th generation, Maternal side
This wonderful approx 120 years old (1890s circa) photo is of my Great-Great-Great Grandparents (5 generations back). Bernhard Knirsch (1831-1906) and his wife Mary Dorothea Harmening (1834-1924). Both born in Germany and died in Blue Island, IL.
My Mom’s great-grandparents on the Knirsch side. Marie Amelia Knirsch married Henry Noa in 1882 in Chicago. The result of this marriage was Amelia Rose Noa who married Joseph C. Podrasky.
Maternal side Great-Grandparents, wedding photo 1904
This is my great-grandparents on my mom’s mom side. Amelia Rose Noa(h) marries Joseph Charles Podrasky, both of Chicago area in 1904.
