Just finished a Client’s Research Request
Doing genealogy research is so interesting and rewarding. The Mysteries that can be solved or finding that long-lost relative can be rewarding for a researcher as well as for the client. At times you discover that there’s even more that one can look for with new analysis of previously done research.
Show your Research to Others
Last Saturday the Dane County Area Genealogical Society meeting was a program where members could display their Genealogy. I brought two items, information on my Maternal Great-Grandmother immigration through Ellis Island in 1901(which I collected in 2011); secondly information from a German Genealogist firm called Beyond History in 2013 that helped locate information on my Paternal Great-Grandmother, German church records in 1840-1850s.
Here is a picture of my maternal Grandfather’s 5th grade School picture in 1925 – Lake Geneva Central School in Lake Geneva, WI – Walworth County.
My grandpa Orville P. Maas – bottom left (circled). Should you know the other people, please reach to me. I love old pictures. I wonder what happened to my grandpa’s classmates?

Season to think about your family history and others
Now that Thanksgiving has just finished, we have Christmas and other holidays coming up soon. As you gather with family, friends and love ones make an effort to learn something new about them or their own traditions of celebration. What brings us together? It may be different for each person if we listen carefully. Happy Holidays!

From a baby to early 20s I lived in Racine, WI, near Lake Michigan. I remember as a child enjoying Malted Milk balls made with Horlick Malted Milk in my hometown. Here is some history:
Looking for Ancestor’s Place of Origin in Germany: Here are a few Resources
When finding place of origin there are many places in Germany that have the same names, historic border changes with conflicts and wars between countries, and the location may not exist anymore. However, to help locate historic locations here are some resources for researchers.
